I have a grain of sand in my eye
...And I cannot get it out.

"Wait... I really did leave, right?"

One more step. Keep moving forward, America.
Waahoooo! Just from some of the words in here, like "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown refused to defend Proposition 8, prodding the sponsors of the initiative to hire a legal team experienced in U.S. Supreme Court litigation," and "The federal challenge was filed on behalf of a gay couple in Southern California and a lesbian couple in Berkeley. They are being represented by former Solicitor General Ted Olson, a conservative, and noted litigator David Boies, who squared off against Olson in Bush vs. Gore," seriously make me light up with hope. This isn't a struggled-out single victory. This is the pressing of a momentum that's going to roll right up to capitol hill.
A federal judge in San Francisco decided today that gays and lesbians have a constitutional right to marry, striking down Proposition 8 , the voter approved ballot measure that banned same-sex unions.
My [today] is getting better. I've got high hopes for [tomorrow].
In other, less political news, my friend impressed some members just got invited, admission-free, to an intellectual summit in California. She lives in northern Europe. She can't go. It's a bittersweet experience.
